BEAR
Bear is a 10 year old black male. Bear is a very sweet guy who loves to be petted. He is a snuggle bunny! Bear has moved into his foster home and is doing great! He has found out how great treats are and loves his naps. Bear is already housetrained and will make a wonderful addition to a lab family. For more info on Bear visit his blog Bear.
MAGGIE
Maggie is a 7 year old chocolate lab who has the curiosity and energy of a much younger dog. She doesn't want to spend her middle age being a couch potato- she likes to have fun! She loves to play with toys and go for walks. She walks well on a leash. In her foster home she lives with a 10 year old male lab and a 5 year old female lab mix. She gets along well with them, but I don't think she would mind being the "one and only". She knows "sit", "shake", and is working on "stay". She is house trained and hasn't chewed on anything except dog toys (she did unstuff one). She sleeps all night in my room in her bed. She is not crated because she is well behaved when I'm gone. She really loves being around people, so she needs a family who is not gone for more than 4 hours a day.
SIMON
Simon is around 7 years of age. Simon is one happy dog. He loves his people and his foster dogs! Simon gets along wonderfully with all that he meets. Simon will make a great family addtion. He is still thin, but is working on putting on weight. Simon had knee injuries that went untreated. He has knee pain that will need to be controlled with pain medication. Don't miss out on this great guy!
QUINN
Quinn is back in Lab Rescue! The family that adopted Quinn felt they rushed into his adoption and did not fully understand young labs like Quinn and his love for life. Quinn is a 2 year old fun-loving lab! He is very social and loves everyone he meets! Quinn enjoys playing chase and keep-away with his k9 foster siblings. Quinn is house/crate trained. Quinn's favorite treat is peanut butter. Quinn is a very active young lab and is currently is helping his foster mom train for a half marathon. He is also working on his doggy manners and loves to show them off! To find out more about Quinn, please check out his blog QUINN! Quinn must be adopted by a family with a physical fence.
BONNIE
This lovely lady is Bonnie. Bonnie was rescued with nerve damage to her front leg after being hit by a car and was unable to bear any weight on that leg. Working with our vet staff and her foster family, she is making great progress toward recovery! Bonnie has regular physical therapy and has been getting better each week. At home, Bonnie is the perfect companion. She is quiet, gentle and loves to snuggle. She is not demanding in any way, does not misbehave (no counter surfing or messes) and sleeps right by the bed. Bonnie loves her doggie toys, rolling in the grass and basking on the deck. She shares very nicely with her foster lab sister. Her walks are a chance to see and be seen and she is always ready to go. Her stamina and leash manners are improving. Bonnie is a people magnet and most everyone stops to inquire about her. This special girl is ready for her forever home! See this link Bonnie for a video to watch Bonnie’s wonderful lab spirit at work!

A little about Labs
Labs are renowned for changing allegiances at the drop of a hat, making them ideal candidates for adoption but less than ideal guard dogs. It is this easy-going nature that is the defining characteristic of the breed. In rescue, we see dogs of all three colors and in many sizes and shapes, yet the Labrador temperament is unmistakable. The versatile Labrador excels at many activities and may be seen today hunting in the field, guiding the blind, assisting the disabled, performing search and rescue work as well as competing in obedience, conformation, agility, flyball and frisbee.

Please note: Referral dogs are not adopted through the Lab Rescue of N.C. program and are not in our foster homes, so please use the contact info listed for each dog; LRNC has no additional information.
However, we are happy to assist any adopters with rehoming issues.
